Engineers Week 2026

Inspiring the Next Generation

Engineers Week is back! This annual nationwide celebration shines a spotlight on the fascinating world of engineering and encouraging young people to explore, question, and imagine how engineering shapes the world around us.

From Saturday, 28 February to Friday, 6 March 2026, schools, community groups, and organisations across Ireland will host events and activities designed to introduce primary and secondary school students to the many sides of engineering, from renewable energy and robotics to design thinking and everyday problem-solving.

Here in Cavan, we’re encouraging everyone to get involved. Whether you’re a teacher, local business, engineer, or community group, you can play a key role in sparking curiosity and inspiring future innovators. The success of Engineers Week depends on participation from people just like you, those passionate about creativity, technology, and learning.

It’s easy to join in! The official Engineers Week website provides free resources, activity packs, and event planning materials to help you organise workshops, classroom projects, or community demonstrations. Even a small local event can have a big impact: planting the seeds of interest that could lead a young person toward an exciting future in engineering.

Get started today by exploring event ideas and support materials at STEPS Engineers Week. Let’s work together this March to celebrate innovation, curiosity, and problem-solving and inspire the engineers of tomorrow right here in County Cavan.
