The call is divided into three main areas:
5G Large Scale Pilots
This initiative supports the deployment of 5G Standalone (SA) infrastructures, focusing on sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, manufacturing, education, and transport. The aim is to enhance 5G coverage along transport corridors and to bring 5G and edge cloud capabilities to Smart Communities, integrating connectivity across multiple industries.
Backbone Connectivity for Digital Global Gateways
Part of the EU's Digital Global Gateway Strategy, this area focuses on upgrading backbone networks within the EU and beyond, improving global connectivity. Both works and studies related to digital global gateways are eligible for funding.
European Quantum Communication Infrastructure (EuroQCI)
This initiative is aimed at developing quantum communication networks across Member States and their overseas territories. It supports the establishment of cross-border and space segment connections, ensuring Europe's leadership in secure communication technologies.
The CEF-Digital calls are open to public and private entities, including joint ventures, from EU Member States as well as overseas countries and territories (OCTs). Cross-border and international cooperation are also encouraged, providing ample opportunity for collaboration across different regions and sectors.
