A Showcase of Innovation with Cavan Connects
The Cavan Monaghan Science Festival's Family Fun Day, held on Saturday, November 16th, 2024, at Kingscourt Community Centre, was a resounding success! The event brought together families and science enthusiasts for an engaging day packed with hands-on activities, inspiring exhibits, and fun-filled exploration.
Cavan Connects was proud to be part of the festival, showcasing its Robotics Arena. This interactive experience proved to be a hit, particularly among younger attendees, who were fascinated by the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge robotics. Many thanks to the Cavan County Libraries staff, who facilitated the event, and to our dedicated Digital Champions for their invaluable support in making the day a success.
The day offered a stellar lineup of activities and exhibits that captured the imagination of attendees of all ages:
Armagh Planetarium Dome: Visitors were transported to the stars in this immersive experience, learning about the wonders of the universe.
VR Visit to Marble Arch Caves: The virtual reality experience allowed participants to explore the natural beauty of these iconic caves without leaving the community centre.
Life-size R2-D2 Robot: A fan favourite, this interactive replica brought a touch of movie magic to the event and delighted Star Wars enthusiasts.
The Family Fun Day was a testament to the power of community, innovation, and education. Events like these underscore the importance of fostering a love for science and technology among young minds while providing a platform for learning and collaboration.
