1. Data Investment and Monitoring Platform 

• Implementing systems to monitor and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) such as: 

  • Footfall 

  • Spending trends 

  • Participation at local events 

  • Movements of people and traffic 

• This data-driven approach will provide actionable insights to support planning, decision-making, and community development. 

2. Investment in Digital Hubs 

• Enhancing existing digital hubs in the Republic of Ireland to expand services and increase usage. 

• New investments in Northern Ireland, including: 

  • Fixed digital hub sites. 

  • Mobile Fab Labs to bring innovation directly to rural and underserved areas. 

• These hubs will act as vital resources for remote workers, entrepreneurs, and community groups. 

3. Enhancing the Urban and Village Centre Experience 

• Using immersive technologies to enrich cultural and heritage sites, art galleries, retail spaces, and local events. 

• Creating vibrant spaces that encourage people to linger, boosting the local economy and fostering community spirit. 

4. Twin Transition: Greener and Smarter Centres 

• Leveraging technology to improve efficiencies and reduce carbon footprints in: 

  • Street and communal lighting 

  • Traffic management systems 

  • Waste collection and management 

• Supporting the transition to more sustainable and cost-effective urban environments. 

5. Digital Mentoring Programme 

• Conducting skills audits for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
