On December 4th, 2024, the VEX Robotics community gathered in Offaly for an electrifying VEX V5 Robotics Competition (V5RC) event titled “High Stakes.”
Organized by Offaly County Council, the scrimmage brought together teams from Offaly, Monaghan, and Donegal for a day of intense competition, creativity, and camaraderie.
Held as an in-person tournament, the event showcased the ingenuity and technical skills of students and mentors alike. Using the Smart Field Control System, teams navigated through challenging tasks, pushing their robots to the limits in this exciting scrimmage.
The competition wasn’t just about winning; it was a celebration of innovation and teamwork, with participants collaborating and learning from each other to hone their robotics expertise.
Cavan Connects is proud to have delivered workshops featuring VEX V5 Robotics to students in St. Aidan's Comprehensive School in Cootehill and Bailieborough Community School. These workshops introduced students to the exciting world of robotics, encouraging them to explore programming, engineering, and problem-solving.
We are hopeful that these budding engineers will soon bring their talents to future competitions, representing Cavan on the VEX Robotics stage and showcasing the skills they’ve developed through these hands-on sessions.
