Are you a young person aged 12-18 with a passion for storytelling and creativity? Do you want to learn how to create your very own podcast? Then we have the perfect opportunity for you!
Join us at the Cavan Connects Innovation Conference on 24 May 2025 for our engaging and hands-on podcast workshops. These workshops are designed to introduce you to the exciting world of audio production and help you develop your communication skills, technical awareness, and creativity.

Our workshop, titled "Mic Check: Podcasting 101", will be presented by the experienced audio producer and music teacher, Shane O Connor. Shane is passionate about helping young people find their voice through creative media. During the 45-minute session, you will:
Learn the basics of podcasting, including hardware, software (Pro Tools), and editing.
Develop confidence in public speaking and creative storytelling.
Work together to record a mini-group podcast.
Enhance your digital literacy and critical thinking through media creation.
The workshop will take place in the Digital Suite, Townhall Arts Centre, Cavan. All necessary equipment, including professional-grade microphones, headphones, and audio interfaces, will be provided. You will also receive handouts to support your learning, such as cheat sheets and podcast tips .
We are offering four small group sessions to ensure a personalized and interactive experience:
