STEMtacular 2026 is a brilliant opportunity for Cavan primary schools to bring STEM to life for their pupils in a fun, hands on way.
STEMtacular is a free, one day celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths for 2nd - 6th class pupils, packed with interactive activities, demonstrations and chances to meet real world STEM role models. This year’s event will take place in Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim on Thursday, 26th February 2026.
Cavan Connects is encouraging schools across County Cavan to register and give their students a day to experiment, explore and build confidence in STEM in a supportive, exciting environment. The fair format makes STEM feel accessible to all learners, not just those who already see themselves as “good at maths or science”.
Places are limited, so early registration is essential to secure a spot for your classes. The closing date for entries is Friday 21st November 2025, which allows time for schools to plan simple projects and for organisers to finalise the programme.
To enter, schools are invited to submit a project or expression of interest showcasing pupils' curiosity, creativity or problem solving around a STEM theme, with full guidelines provided on registration. Participation can also support school priorities around STEM, digital skills and future careers, and gives students a memorable experience to share back in the classroom and with their families.
